About

Elizabeth Hucker grew up in an old New England farmhouse without cable tv and sugary snacks. She spent most of her childhood reading, creating, playing outside and eating carob chocolate for a sweet treat. Only one thing has changed - real chocolate, and often.

Liz comes from a long line of artists on her maternal side. Her mother, Louise, is a painter, photographer and printmaker. She provided Liz with her first camera, a 1981 Minolta 35mm SLR, which prompted her passion for photography in high school and college. She began painting in college, working exclusively with oil paints, and received the honor of first prize in the Hartwick College Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition her senior year.

Her passion for painting continued beyond college, and she continued taking classes in Boston. She began studying arts management and received her MS in Arts Administration from Boston University. She spent many years supporting the arts in her positions at the Cambridge Arts Council and the Greater Hartford Arts Council. She continues supporting nonprofit organizations in her current role at Fio Partners as an Executive Search consultant.

Liz's work has been selected for exhibitions at Art Gallery at the Mill in Unionville, Farmington Valley Arts Center, Silver Circle Gallery, West Hartford Art League and West Hartford Public Library. Selected pieces are available at Gather on Hopmeadow in Simsbury, CT.

When Liz isn't painting or recruiting nonprofit leaders, you'll likely find her hiking the Cathles trails with her pups, reading with a cup of coffee, driving throughout New England with a car full of hockey gear, or cheering on the lacrosse/soccer/baseball/flag football field sidelines. Usually with chocolate in hand.
